This portrait is a quasi-religious interpretation of a domestic chore in which a friend serves an upside-down peach cake as a kind of votive offering.

For the recipe in the background,  I chose a font that is reminiscent of the kind used in churches and church documents.   I wanted to convey a mood of peace and tranquillity with the layers of warm glazes and the soft light illuminating this "priestess" of the hearth.
